Hey People!

This Blog is obviously about the organized mess that I like to call my life. From the music, to the fashion, to the randomness that frequently goes on in my World- I invite you to Come INSIDE :)

D.I.Y.

Yup, it has most definitely been a minute since jumped on this blog but I am back. I'm so excited that I am going on vacation next week. :) But that is besideis the point. I have been stuck in a Do-It-Yourself mood lately and the things that I have been making are candy wrapper purses. If you don't quite know what I'm talking about go to http://www.ecoist.com/ Their purses are basically made in Peru or Mexico and they trade or pay low income families to make these purses. It is actually now a tradition for them to pass their purse making secrets from generation to generation. I finally know how to make them after some trial and error and it was actually very simple, easy, and fun. I will show some pics of my purses but these are from my webcam so they won't be that great in quality. If I charge my digital camera then I will put more pictures up. Since I didn't have an ample amount of candy wrappers or potato chip bags, I went to Hobby Lobby and bought some different colored gift wrap. It's different from usual gift wrap because the paper is thicker and thats good because it didn't tear as easily when I began to make the purse. I also went to Joann Fabrics and bought handles for the purses. It is a great feeling when I complete them and I am kinda making a complete line of purses. I will probably start another one in another week.

Its hard to see the colors but this purse is a blue and pink purse. The handle was made out of Real Leather craft lace that I braided in 3 strands.

This purse is a white and gold purse. I bought the white paper at a Hallmark kiosk. The gold was just some extra wrapping paper my mom had laying around from a few Christmas' ago. The chain I attached is a jewelry chain from Hobby Lobby and I fastened it on with these round fasteners from Joann Fabrics. :)
